sinking in

It is starting to sink in that this is real.  Friday afternoon I allowed myself to wander over to the pregnancy section of the bookstore and finally said goodbye to the fertility section.  (More to come on that in the next few days as the books in the bookstores simply will not do.  I am not into the crazy scientific, written by a doctor, full of intervention pregnancy books, natural pregnancy books... where are you?)

That is the point where it started to sink in.  It is kind of strange now that I am not worrying.  I catch myself thinking that there should be something huge to stress about but then I realize that there is not.

This will take some getting used to but I think I am up to the challenge.

Friday night was a night to celebrate... celebrate that we are finally expecting and celebrate my twenty eighth birthday!

My family reads my blog.  This is a huge plus when it comes to gifts as I received two items that I have posted about in the past and truly love...

A birthday in our family is never complete without a nice dinner out...

Okay unfortunately the wine got the best of the group (aside from me of course) and we only thought about a picture when we got the bill!
Happy Monday!

  1. Yay! It's so awesome that you are finally pregnant!!

  2. I picked up some books from the thrift store. got the classics. WTE, Girlfriend's Guide to Pregnancy. So far I haven't quite found what I'm looking for but I only had to spend $2 a pop so not much of a risk in grabbing them. Was very weird not to pick up The Infertility Companion. I was intrigued by Maybe Baby so I got that too.

  3. You all look great! You look fab, Ash. Ahhhh every time I read your blog I get all teary eyed again lol. SO excited and happy for you and Andrew. Wish I could see your gorgeous faces. So much love to you all.

  4. Awe, happy day!!! You're looking fabulous and totally rocking the pregnancy glow already:) Hope the coming weeks are blessedly uneventful!

  5. :-D How wonderful that your family read your blog so knew just what to get you!

I hope you're enjoying letting the news sink in.

  6. You are so wise not to buy into the crazy-making pregnancy books -- though I recall that WTE was helpful to have around as an occasional reference book. Wishing you a calmly chaotic journey through the next nine months and beyond.

  7. Hi, I'm popping in for ICLW...congratulations on your pregnancy!

I agree with the poster above that WTE was a great reference but these days you don't need to buy the book, the website will send you daily info & it's the same as what's in the book...there's also an iPhone app...

  8. Congratulations on your pregnancy! I am also pregnant after IF, it is a surreal experience, hard to believe that it finally happened...Oh, and I 3rd the WTE books...awesome info.

  9. pregnancy sounds like a great thing to try to get used to. Enjoy this process (I know you will).
Wonderful that you could celebrate your birthday AND the BFP in one evening!
