design scouting

After a relaxing lunch at my parents house that included a couple glasses of red wine, we ventured out design scouting.  I painted their master bedroom for them in the winter and they are itching to come up with a design for the rest of the room.  The focus today was headboard hunting, specifically finding fabric for an upholstered headboard.  Mission accomplished.  I am still trying my best to convince them to let me paint their oh so dark and dated (sorry) dresser and side tables.

This design scouting trip has me thinking of all of the things that I would love to jump into in our house.  For now I will dream and and live vicariously through these online finds.

I found this bedroom online about a year ago.  The colour, I learned, was farrow and ball's downpipe.  It was love at first sight.  Our master now features this colour.  I would love to find a pink pillow (vibrant pink to be specific) to add to our chair not unlike the one in this photo by Ab Chao.

Frivolity & The Test of Time courtesy of Apartment Therapy, one of my favourite online inspiration sources.  I would love to find a chandalier like this and give it a home in our entranceway or stairway.

This entranceway was featured in Domino Magazine, my favourite design magazine of all time which unfortunately ceased to exist about a year ago.  I would love to walk into such a bright and airy space.

Okay so I realize this is not exactly design related, but this guinness cake (yes guys there is beer in here) looks too good not to include.

I am off to a wonderful thanksgiving dry run dinner that my Husband has been slaving over all afternoon.

Happy Saturday.

I like comments (almost) as much as like wine!
