One Room Challenge Reveal - Twin Bedroom

We were in our twin daughters bedroom earlier this week as they got ready for bed Isla exclaimed, "This bedroom went from childish to glamorous!" And I think she nailed it.

Wow week six is here already for the One Room Challenge and this time around I am happy to say that we finished on time! I am thrilled with how this room came together and am reminded of how wonderful this challenge is in that it really pushes you to finish every last detail. I know I can personally get a project to about 90% completion and then get overwhelmed obsessing over the final details. This is just such a great reminder of the importance of planning and then adjusting and then actually following through.

Okay enough rambling. Here is what you're here for... the big reveal!

One Room Challenge Bedroom Reveal

and a quick before to remind you (and me) of how far we've come

I cannot get over how pulled together and finished this space feels. Also every single detail is competing for my favourite detail. I am partial to the arches. From the DIY headboards to this perfectly awesome Orion Table Lamp that Mitzi by Hudson Valley sent us and then the DIY arched shelves - I am in love with the repetition and playful shape that dominates this shared bedroom space.

And can we just take a second to appreciate how much of a difference those DIY Arc Headboards really make? I mean I just want to yell to the masses that you CAN CHOP OFF YOUR IKEA HEADBOARD and do better.

The wallpaper from Mitchell Black is a show stopper, and the prints that arrived from Parabo Press last week just tie in so well with the colours and playful feel of the space.

Here is a close up of the waves that are actually a photograph by Gray Malin made into wallpaper.

The Loloi Joaquin rug basically makes the space. It pulls everything together and is so soft underfoot. I now want this rug in our bedroom, our living room - everywhere. And take note, always go for the biggest area you can fit into your space because it really grounds the space and pulls different elements that might now work together on their own - into a cohesive look.

I purchased @ariellevey 's desktop presents from aColorStory to make these photos that I took really come alive. I can't get over the quality of the present and the actual fine art print from Parabo Press. I highly recommend this combo for any art you're thinking of turning into a print.

I am so glad I went with my gut and went for cream coloured bedding rather than white. This bedding was sent from Brooklinen and it is amazingly soft. It's from their Lux Hardcore Bundle and I loved how we were able to pick three different colours of pillowcases within the bundle.

These mini ottomans sent to us by Tonic Living are possibly the girls favourite part of the room as they picked them all on their own and are the perfect landing spot for their journey dolls and bunny collection.

Another detail that must not be missed are the Schlage Canada doorknobs. They are such a small detail but pack maximum punch. I'd spray painted our original knobs when we moved in and five years later they were an embarrassment. I love the matte black and style of these bowery knobs.

The Tonic Living Valentia cameo velvet pillows are so indulgent and perfect (and I want them for myself). They provide the perfect subtle dose of pink and a big dose of soft texture against the wood headboard.

When the Orion Table Lamp first arrived I think I laughed as it was much bigger then I'd imagined but I did go with the bigger size of the two available and my mantra with this project was to go big or go home. Once Andrew installed it we all immediately declared that it was perfect and absolutely staying. I decided to keep the nightstand clear so that the light can stand out and really I love a minimal spot beside the bed with just enough room for a glass of water.

The Stella semi flush mount from Mitzi by Hudson Valley Lighting is such a stunner. I love that Alice and Isla chose this ornate ceiling medallion to go with it as the combination is just perfect.
